As a Float Custodian, you will work both Afternoon/Evening Shifts and periodcally Day Shifts and will contribute to this educational mission by keeping the district's buildings in such a state of operating excellence that they present no problems or interuptions to the education program. You will work as part of a team of 70+ serving 8,000 students and 18 campuses across Helena. Some of what you will do:Assist in maintaining seasonal grounds work (snow, lawn) etc.Clean and preserve designated spaces, equipment etc. in the building.Restock disposable items and provides day maintenance person with inventory usage and data.Perform ongoing preventative maintenance and minor repair on plumbing, custodial equipment, building structure and hardware.Perform minor electrical maintenance and repairs.Perform light maintenance as needed.Assist the visiting public utilizing school facilities with directions within the building and in obtaining and setting up needed equipment and/or materials.Maintain building and grounds security by closing the building each school day and during special events,To become part of this dedicated team, you need:High school diploma or equivalent;Up to three (3) months of related experience and/or training;Or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience as determined by the District.Essential functions of the position include the ability to frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds such as cleaning suppllies, pails and unloading trucks. Occasionaly the empoyee will lift and/or move up to 100 pounds such as bulk furniture with or without a reasonable accommodation. Entry level salary is $16.90 per hour ($35,152 per year not including overtime opportunities) and includes a comprehensive benefit package consisting of paid sick and vacation leave, 12 paid holidays, 2 paid personal days, a generous health benefit offering, and retirement.
