Patient Registration Specialist

This position is responsible for completing patient registration duties and providing administrative support for assigned area(s). Collects and validates accurate patient demographic and insurance information, verifies authorizations and referrals as required and data enters necessary information into registration system. Informs the patient of estimated liability at the time of service, collects patient liabilities, identifies patients in need of financial assistance and refers patients to financial counseling as necessary.

Your Role in Action

  • Be the first impression: Greet and guide patients through the registration process with kindness and efficiency.
  • Ensure accuracy: Collect, verify, and update demographic, insurance, and financial information.
  • Support patients financially: Verify insurance, explain out-of-pocket costs, process payments, and connect patients with financial counseling if needed.
  • Keep care moving: Prioritize registrations based on patient acuity and department protocols to ensure timely care.
  • Collaborate with the team: Work closely with clinical staff, providers, and fellow administrative professionals to deliver seamless care.
  • Champion excellence: Meet productivity and quality standards while spotting opportunities to improve processes and patient experience.

What You Bring

  • At least 1 year of customer service experience (healthcare experience preferred).
  • Knowledge of medical terminology and insurance processes (or eagerness to learn).
  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail.
  • Ability to handle sensitive information with professionalism, tact, and confidentiality.
  • Excellent communicationboth verbal and writtento connect with patients and team members.
  • Comfortable using Microsoft Office Suite and quick to learn new software systems.
  • Coursework beyond high school or experience in a complex administrative role required; Associate's or Bachelor's degree preferred.

Shift: Day Shift - 8 Hours (United States of America)

Schedule: Logan Health operates 24 hours per day, seven days per week. Schedules are set to accommodate the requirements of the position and the needs of the organization and may be adjusted as needed.
