Immediate opening for a Day Custodian for the Lincoln Center, PAL and Facilities split

As the Day Custodian you contribute to this mission by keeping the buildings and grounds in such a state of operating excellence that they present no problems or interuptions to the education program. You will work as part of a team of 70+ custodians serving 8,000 students and 18 campuses across Helena.

Some of what you will do:

• Assists in maintaining seasonal grounds work (snow, lawn) etc.
• Cleans and preserves designated spaces, equipment etc. in the building.
• Restocks disposable items and provides day maintenance person with inventory usage and data.
• Performs ongoing preventative maintenance and minor repair on plumbing, custodial equipment, building structure and hardware.
• Performs minor electrical maintenance and repairs.
• Performs light maintenance as needed.
• Assists the visiting public utilizing school facilities with directions within the building and in obtaining and setting up needed equipment and/or materials.
• Maintains building and grounds security by closing the building each school day and during special events,

To become part of this dedicated team, you need:

• High school diploma or equivalent;
• Up to three (3) months of related experience and/or training;
• Successful applicant must possess or secure a Montana Class 1 Low Pressure Boilers' license within six (6) months of employment date.
• Or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience as determined by the District.

Essential functions of the position include the ability to frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds such as cleaning suppllies, pails and unloading trucks. Occasionaly the empoyee will lift and/or move up to 100 pounds such as bulk furniture with or without a reasonable accommodation.

Entry level salary is $17.39 per hour and includes a comprehensive benefit package.
